About Kristian

Kristian graduated in 2012 from Cardiff University with a degree in Dentistry, where he was awarded the W&H ‘Outreach’ Student of the Year Prize. Following graduation, he gained extensive experience in the Community Dental Service and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, while also achieving Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Following a number of years in a local General Dental Practice, Kristian returned to Cardiff in 2017 to pursue specialist training in Orthodontics, earning his MScD in Orthodontics, MOrth, and FDS(Orth) from the Royal College of Surgeons. During this time, he was awarded a scholarship for his academic performance and the prestigious BOS Houston Research Scholar Award for his research into environmental factors influencing lip shape.

After completing advanced clinical training, Kristian was appointed Consultant at Morriston Hospital in 2022, where he manages complex cases, including patients born with cleft lip and palate, severe jaw discrepancies, and hypodontia (missing teeth). He currently serves as Chair of the South West Wales Orthodontic Managed Clinical Network and as a member of the Strategic Advisory Forum for Orthodontics alongside representatives from Welsh Government. Kristian has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at national and international conferences. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Education and is an Honorary Clinical Teacher at Cardiff University, where he lectures to dentists, doctors, and orthodontic specialists in training.

In addition to his hospital role, Kristian provides private orthodontic care at Neat Teeth Orthodontics, treating both children and adults with a wide range of orthodontic systems and appliances. Outside of his professional work, Kristian has a young family, and is kept busy as a School Governor, and as Treasurer for a local Type 1 Diabetes charity.
